Trip to Centenary Suburbs Men's Shed April 8 2024

On Tuesday, around 20 members from Tweed Head Men's Shed embarked on an exciting journey organized by Joe to visit Century Suburb Men's Shed. It was a delightful day filled with camaraderie and exploration.

We began our adventure with a refreshing stop for morning tea at a picturesque park alongside the Logan River, soaking in the natural beauty before continuing our journey to Century Suburb Men's Shed. Upon arrival, we were greeted with awe-inspiring facilities, including a spacious conference/tea room and a well-equipped shed boasting machinery for woodworking and metalworking, a charming small art studio, and even a chook house.

Our visit left us thoroughly impressed, and we extend our gratitude to Joe for coordinating the outing and the bus, Barry for driving and John Hall for navigating the bus. After our enriching experience, we indulged in a delicious lunch at a local pub and made a pit stop at Yatala Pies before heading home, reminiscing on the wonderful memories created throughout the day.

Thank you to everyone involved for making this excursion a memorable and enjoyable one for all!

Empowering Hands: A Day at the Mens Sheds Cluster Meeting in Ballina 2024

A number of representatives from the Men's Sheds from the Northern Rivers attended the Cluster Meeting held at Ballina. The men met at Ballinaโ€™s Men Shed for a delicious morning tea which was iced Boston bun, slices, biscuits and tea/ coffee.

The shed itself was built only in recent years and is very well maintained with dust extractors from each machine. There was a large display of toys and furniture that the guys had made or repaired.

We continued with our business at the RSL club with each club speaking about their struggles and strengths.

Then Beth Gow from the Men's Shed Association went through the website showing some of the resources available to the members.

Lunch at the club was fresh sandwiches and sausage rolls/ pies. The company as always was great.
